Code of Ethics

I will serve the best interests of my clients, conducting my professional activities without causing or intending to cause harm.​I will treat all my clients with equal respect, regardless of their origin, race, religion, (chosen) gender, age, or sexual preference. My aim is to create a safe space for all.

I will only provide services for those I have permission to provide them for, and not for unwitting third parties. ​I do not offer tarot readings relating to death, vertility or disease. ​I will interpret a reading to the best of my ability and will honestly admit when I cannot interpret something.

I will always tell the truth, but not impose information on a client that they have clearly indicated that they do not wish to know or explore further in depth.​ I will keep confidential the names of clients and all information shared or discussed during readings, unless otherwise requested by the client or required by a court of law.

I will recommend clients consult a licensed professional for advice of a legal, financial, medical, or psychological nature that I am not qualified to provide. If trained in one of these areas, I will clearly differentiate between my readings and any professional advice additionally provided.

I will respect my clients’ right to refuse or terminate their reading at any time, regardless of prior consent.

Cancellation and refund policy

Sessions

If, for any reason (illness or personal), I am not available or able to fulfill the Service you have purchased, I will give the option to reschedule or offer a full refund.

Please note that the personalized human design pdfs that are sent per e-mail by Pathways to spirit world are considered a Service and due to the nature of the service and labor involved are non-refundable.

All digital 1-on-1 meetings can be cancelled, rescheduled and/or refunded up to 24 hours before the appointement. If cancellation occurs within 24-hours of the appointment I cannot offer a refund. It is possible to reschedule 1-on-1 sessions up to 1 hour before our session.

Monthly subscription service Postcards from Spirit World

Monthly subscriptions 
Your subscription renews automatically each month unless cancelled. 

Once your payment for the current month has been processed, your subscription for that month’s letter is confirmed and non-refundable. 

If your mail has arrived damaged or has been lost, please contact me to receive a replacement. 

Prepaid subscriptions (3, 6 or 12 months). 
Prepaid subscriptions of multiple months are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled before the end of the selected term. No full or partial refunds will be issued for the unused time remaining within a prepaid subscription. 

If you choose to cancel during your active prepaid subscription, your cancellation will be scheduled to take effect once your prepaid term has been fulfilled and all letters included within your subscription have been sent. 

If your mail arrives damaged or goes missing, that’s a different story — pop over to “I’d like some help with my delivery” above, and I’ll get you sorted with a replacement.

Digital items

Digital items are non-refundable as you receive the item directly upon purchase.

This website is operated by Marjolein Platjee, owner of Pathways to Spirit world. Throughout the site, the terms “I”, “me” and “mine” refer to Marjolein Platjee, owner of Pathways to Spirit world. I offer this website, including all information, tools and services available from this site to you, the user, conditioned upon your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies and notices stated here.

By visiting my site and/ or purchasing something from me, you engage in my “Service” and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms of Service”, “Terms”), including those additional terms and conditions and policies referenced herein and/or available by hyperlink. These Terms of Service apply to all users of the site, including without limitation users who are browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and/ or contributors of content.

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before accessing or using my website. By accessing or using any part of the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. General conditions

I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time. The services I offer are subject to my acceptance of your order or requests. No order is deemed accepted by me until payment has been processed.

You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell or exploit any portion of the Service, use of the Service, or access to the Service or any contact on the website through which the service is provided, without express written permission by me.

The headings used in this agreement are included for convenience only and will not limit or otherwise affect these Terms.

Use of site and purpose

To access or use any information or Services displayed or purchased on my Site, you must be 18 years of age or older and have the requisite power and authority to enter into these Terms and Conditions. Children under the age of 18 are prohibited from using any Services. Information provided on the Site and in the Service related to tarot, oracle or rune readings and digital products and other information are subject to change. The gentle spiritualist makes no representation or warranty that the information provided, regardless of its source (the “Content”), is accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free. Pathways to spirit world disclaims all liability for any inaccuracy, error, or incompleteness in the Content.

Lawful purposes

You may use the Site and Service for lawful purposes only. You agree to be financially responsible for all purchases made by you or someone acting on your behalf through the Site. You agree to use the Site and to purchase services or products through the Site for legitimate, non-commercial purposes only. You shall not post or transmit through the Site any material which violates or infringes the rights of others, or which is threatening, abusive, defamatory, libelous, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, vulgar, obscene, profane, or otherwise objectionable, contains injurious formulas, recipes, or instructions, which encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law.

Prohibited uses

In addition to other prohibitions as set forth in the Terms of Service, you are prohibited from using the site or its content: (a) for any unlawful purpose; (b) to solicit others to perform or participate in any unlawful acts; (c) to violate any international, federal, provincial or state regulations, rules, laws, or local ordinances; (d) to infringe upon or violate my intellectual property rights or the intellectual property rights of others; (e) to harass, abuse, insult, harm, defame, slander, disparage, intimidate, or discriminate based on gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, race, age, national origin, or disability; (f) to submit false or misleading information; (g) to upload or transmit viruses or any other type of malicious code that will or may be used in any way that will affect the functionality or operation of the Service or of any related website, other websites, or the Internet; (h) to collect or track the personal information of others; (i) to spam, phish, pharm, pretext, spider, crawl, or scrape; (j) for any obscene or immoral purpose; or (k) to interfere with or circumvent the security features of the Service or any related website, other websites, or the Internet. We reserve the right to terminate your use of the Service for violating any of the prohibited uses.

Order confirmation

I will email you to confirm the placement of your order and with details concerning the purchased Service. In the event that there is an error in this email confirmation, it is your responsibility to inform me as soon as possible.

Modification to service or prices

Prices for my products are subject to change without notice.

I reserve the right at any time to modify or discontinue the Service (or any part or content thereof) without notice at any time.

We shall not be liable to you or to any third-party for any modification, price change, suspension or discontinuance of the Service.

Intellectual property

The Site and Service contain intellectual property owned by Pathways to spirit world, including trademarks, copyrights, proprietary information, and other intellectual property. You may not modify, publish, transmit, participate in the transfer or sale of, create derivative works from, distribute, display, reproduce or perform, or in any way exploit in any format whatsoever any of the Site or Service Content or intellectual property, in whole or in part, without my prior written consent. I reserve the right to immediately remove you from the Service, without refund, if you are caught violating this intellectual property policy.

Changes to terms of service

You can review the most current version of the Terms of Service at any time at this page.I reserve the right, at my sole discretion, to update, change or replace any part of these Terms of Service by posting updates and changes to my website. It is your responsibility to check my website periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to my website or the Service following the posting of any changes to these Terms of Service constitutes acceptance of those changes.

Limitation of liability

In no case shall Pathways to spirit or it’s owner Marjolein Platjee world be liable for any injury, loss, claim, or any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages of any kind, including, without limitation lost profits, lost revenue, lost savings, loss of data, any failure or performance, error, omission, denial of service, attack, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, computer virus, or line or system failure; third party theft of, destruction of, unauthorized access to, alteration of, or use of your information or property or any similar damages, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, arising from your use of any of the Service or any products procured using the service, or for any other claim related in any way to your use of the Service or any product, including, but not limited to, any errors or omissions in any content, or any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of the service or any content (or product) posted, transmitted, or otherwise made available via the Service, even if advised of their possibility. Because some states or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or the limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, in such states or jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Disclaimer

By participating in/reading my services/website you acknowledge that I am not a licensed psychologist, lawyer, or health care professional and my services do not replace the care of lawyers, psychologists, or other healthcare professionals. Tarot, oracle cards and runes, spirit world exploration readings and other services are in no way to be construed or substituted as psychological counseling or any other type of therapy or medical advice. I will at all times exercise my best professional efforts, skills, and care. However, my readings and/or recommendations on my website/ in e-mails or during 1-on-1 consultations are expressions of opinion only. I cannot make any guarantees other than to deliver the services purchased as described. All my readings are intended for entertainment purposes only.

Privacy Policy

I care about the privacy of the people who work with me. This policy explains what personal information I collect through Pathways to Spirit World, why I need it, and what I do with it.

It applies to my one-to-one Spirit World sessions, my digital story Your Pathway to Spirit World, and my subscription Postcards from Spirit World.

What I collect

What I ask for depends on what you choose.

  • For all services: your name and email address.

  • For Spirit World sessions: the details needed to book and pay for your session. If you give permission for your session to be recorded, I also collect the recording so that you can watch the session back afterwards.

  • For the digital story: your name and email address, so I can send it to you.

  • For Postcards from Spirit World: your name, email address and postal address. For the premium tier, I create a personalised guide letter based on what I channel during the process. You do not need to provide information about yourself for this.

Providing information is always your choice. If you choose not to provide information I need to deliver a service, for example a postal address for a physical mailing, I may not be able to provide that service.

Why I use it

I use your information to:

  • process payments and orders;

  • provide the service or product you have purchased;

  • arrange and run your Spirit World session;

  • record and provide a replay of your session, where you have given permission for it to be recorded;

  • prepare and send your Postcards from Spirit World subscription;

  • send your digital purchase;

  • answer questions and communicate with you about your order, booking or subscription; and

  • comply with legal and financial obligations.

I only use your information for these purposes or where I am legally required to do so.

Session recordings

I only record a Spirit World session if you give me permission to do so.

The recording is provided to you so that you can watch your session back. I do not use the recording for marketing, training, publication or any other purpose.

You can choose not to have your session recorded.

I keep session recordings only for as long as you need reasonable access to the replay, after which they are deleted.

Who else sees it

I do not sell your personal information.

To run Pathways to Spirit World, I use a small number of trusted service providers, such as my website and online shop, payment provider, booking and video-call tools, email service, design and printing services, and postal or courier services.

These providers only receive the information they need to provide their service. Where required, they process your information on my behalf and under appropriate data-protection arrangements.

Emails

I only send you emails beyond what you need for your order, booking or subscription if you have chosen to receive them.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting me.

How long I keep your information

I keep your personal information for as long as I need it to provide the service and deal with any questions or issues afterwards.

Session recordings are kept only for as long as you need reasonable access to the replay, after which they are deleted.

Some information must be kept for longer because the law requires it. For example, I generally need to keep information that forms part of my business administration for seven years for tax purposes.

I delete information that I no longer need, unless I have a legal reason to keep it.

For Postcards from Spirit World, I delete your postal address when I no longer need it to fulfil your subscription, unless I have a legal reason to keep it.

Your rights

You have rights under the GDPR, including the right to ask me to:

  • show you what personal information I hold about you;

  • correct information that is inaccurate;

  • delete your personal information where I am legally able to do so; or

  • stop or restrict certain uses of your information.

You can also object to certain types of processing, and you can withdraw your consent where I process your information based on consent.

You also have the right to make a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) if you believe your personal information is not being handled correctly.
